The demise of the #BDS movement
It’s clear that the boycott divestment sanctions movement (BDS) against Israel had been waning for some time both financially and through physical numbers. On the streets of Europe especially in the United Kingdom the amount of support for the boycott of Israel had been slowly diminishing and where once we saw hundreds, possibly thousands coming out for Gaza and their hatred of Israel, we are seeing maybe a group of two or three activists holding flags, where the audience watching on the pavements and Police total more in number than the protesters themselves. I suppose, we could also bring in Jeremy Corbyn’s defeat at the General election, where the Labour Party were constantly pushing the Palestinian narrative through their conferences and their events, in effect losing a working class vote who are quite rightly not interested in the Labour BDS movements.
As peace deals by PM Netanyahu are being made in Israel between Arab nations the UAE and maybe Saudi Arabia, the cohesion of nations against a possible nuclear lead Iran, the narrative and the ideology of the BDS movement is no longer palatable.
Where “from their “river to the sea” mantra, Israel would be theirs, this has led the #BDS to a point of having to justify not only their hatred of Israel, but more importantly their silence against Hezbollah and the terror from Hamas towards any kind of normality for a people that claim…
